The 55E1(often called “U 55” in older national standards) rail is a heavy-duty railway rail profile primarily used in specialized heavy haulage, industrial, and urban transit applications.55E1 steel Rail is a kind of EN standard heavy rail. It is an uncommon rail type.

Material & Mechanical Properties
Standards:Dimensions: EN 13674-4 (custom variant).
Mechanical properties: EN 13674-1 (R260/R350HT grades).
Steel Grades:
R260 Grade:
260–300 HBW hardness, ≥880 MPa tensile strength; suitable for general freight and industrial use with axle loads up to 25 tons.
R350HT Grade:
Heat-treated for 350–390 HBW hardness and ≥1,175 MPa tensile strength, ideal for ultra-heavy haul (30+ ton axles) and high-speed applications. This grade reduces wear by 25% compared to non-treated rails.
Customization Services
Pre-drilled bolt patterns, stress-relieved ends, and corrosion protection (galvanization or epoxy-polyester paint).
Due to 55E1 is not a universally recognized EN standard. The minimum order quantity(MOQ) is 1,000 tons.
