CONTINUOUS STEEL SOLEPLATES

Introduction

Continuous steel soleplates play a pivotal role in heavy – lifting operations, especially when it comes to supporting and securing heavy – lifting rails. These soleplates are designed to distribute the substantial loads exerted by heavy cranes evenly, ensuring the stability and safety of the overall lifting system.

Function and Fixation

Continuous soleplates are used to carry heavy – lifting rails. They can be fixed with either bolted rail clamps or welded rail clamps. In most cases involving heavy cranes, welded rail clips in combination with continuous steel soleplates are the preferred choice.
This is because welded connections often provide a more robust and durable attachment, better suited to withstand the dynamic and static loads experienced in heavy – duty crane operations.

Material Specifications

The steel plates used for our continuous soleplates are carbon steel plates with a thickness exceeding 20MM. This thick – gauge carbon steel offers high strength and excellent load – bearing capabilities.
The choice of this material(Usually, most of our customers choose Q235 steel and galvanized processing to increase service life.) ensures that the soleplates can endure the significant weights and forces associated with heavy – crane applications without deforming or failing over time.

Manufacturing Process for Optimal Corrosion Resistance

For the best anti – corrosion performance and a strong connection, the baseplates of the rail clips are welded to the steel soleplates prior to galvanization. This pre – galvanization welding process results in a seamless and reliable welding interface.

Once welded, the entire assembly, including the soleplate and the attached rail – clip baseplates, undergoes galvanization. Galvanization creates a protective zinc coating that shields the steel from corrosion, extending the lifespan of the components, especially in harsh industrial and outdoor environments where port and heavy – lifting operations typically take place.

Installation – related Features

Our continuous soleplates are equipped with fixed threaded holes and leveling bolt holes. These holes are crucial for the installation process. The fixed threaded holes are used to connect the soleplates to the on – site concrete base, ensuring a secure and stable connection. The leveling bolt holes, on the other hand, allow for precise leveling of the soleplates.

By adjusting the leveling bolts, the soleplates can be perfectly aligned, which is essential for maintaining the proper alignment of the heavy – lifting rails. This precise alignment not only ensures smooth crane operation but also reduces wear and tear on the crane wheels and the rails themselves.

Custom – made Solutions

We understand that every customer’s requirements are unique. That’s why our continuous steel soleplates are fully customizable. Whether you need a specific size, shape, or additional features, our team of experts can work with you to design and manufacture a solution that meets your exact needs.
Size Customization: We can adjust the length, width, and thickness of the soleplates according to the dimensions of your crane, the type of rail being used, and the space available at the installation site.
Feature Customization: If you require special holes, grooves, or other features for your specific installation or operational needs, we can incorporate them into the design.
Material Options: While we commonly use carbon steel plates over 20MM, we can also offer other materials or grades of steel based on your performance and budget requirements.
Our commitment to custom – made solutions ensures that you get a continuous steel soleplate that is not only high – quality but also tailored to your project’s specific demands.
