Project Background
An Indian customer responsible for port equipment maintenance contacted Glory Rail for an STS Crane rail replacement project at Haldia Port.
The STS Crane had been operating under frequent container handling conditions for a long period. Due to continuous heavy-duty use, the short rails installed on the crane trolley system showed significant wear.
The worn rails affected the trolley movement and caused vibration during operation. Since the existing equipment had specific installation requirements, the customer needed replacement rails that could match the original structure without major modifications.

Customized Short Rail Solution
Based on the customer’s existing crane structure and replacement requirements, Glory Rail provided a Customized Short Rail Solution.
Unlike standard rail supply, these short rails needed to match the original installation dimensions and connection conditions of the STS Crane trolley system.
Glory Rail manufactured the customized short rails using 42CrMo material and controlled the key dimensions to ensure proper fitting with the existing equipment.
To support the complete rail replacement work, Glory Rail also supplied related rail components, including:
- A75 Crane Rail (300m standard rails)
- Steel Soleplates
- Rail Clamps
- Rubber Pads
- Rail Stops
These components were supplied together according to the customer’s project requirements.
Delivery and Site Condition Before Replacement
The complete shipment was packed and delivered in early October 2025.
After receiving the products, the customer prepared for the replacement work and shared photos of the existing worn rails on the STS Crane trolley system.
The photos showed the original rail condition before replacement, including the worn rail surface and installation position on the crane structure.

These site photos helped confirm the actual application conditions and provided reference for the customized rail replacement project.
Project Summary
For this STS Crane maintenance project at Haldia Port, Glory Rail supplied a customized short rail solution together with the required rail fastening components.
